Sustainability

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact, supporting the local landscape and preserving our neighbouring natural habitats for local wildlife. While sustainability was a major focus in the construction of our new spa and gym, it was only the start of our journey of continual improvement. We have already introduced a number of initiatives and solutions to minimise the environmental impacts of our business and will continue to do so.

Sustainable wellness starts within.

Treading carefully

The flooring throughout the Spa complex is eco-friendly and sustainable.

Our carpets that are made from recycled materials. CQuest™Bio is non-vinyl, non-bitumen made with a biocomposite, containing bio-based and recycled fillers. These materials, when measured on a standalone basis are net carbon negative.

The hard flooring is manufactured in factories certified to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 9001 Quality Management International Standards with all manufacturing waste recycled in a closed loop process at source.

Energy & Water

Our Spa and gym uses an 80% efficient heat recovery and air management system for heating and cooling the building, while minimising energy usage.

Laceby’s Manor’s proximity to natural water sources enable us to tap into renewable, sustainable, natural water sources to service all areas of the business, using our own on-site borehole.

We also harvest rainwater from the large surface area of our Spa roof, using an innovative system. The water harvested is used to irrigate the golf course and spa planting and to fill the natural swimming pond.

Where possible, we make efforts to reduce water consumption, through the use of efficient washing machines to sourcing quick-drying, eco-friendly Spa robes that require less water and laundry detergent.

Plastic & recycling

We avoid single-use plastic and, where this is unavoidable, any plastic used is certified compostable. All shower products in changing and hotel bedrooms are supplied in full size, refillable bottles and the compostable coffee pods provided in our Spa rooms are used as fertiliser for the grounds.

We recycle across all areas of the resort and have separate waste for food recycling. We also ask all suppliers for packaging-free deliveries where possible.

We’ve also moved the majority of our marketing and communications to digital channels to reduce paper use. This includes online booking systems for all elements of our service, including golf, restaurant, accommodation and spa. Where physical materials are required, we use recycled, biodegradable materials with Cellogreen lamination.

We’ve also rewilded any areas of the golf course that are out of bounds to support the local wildlife.

reducing emissions

Our management team has switched to electric cars and we have installed four Zappi car charging points from local company, MyEnergi, to encourage guests and members to switch to EV. We also wash and dry Spa and accommodation laundry on-site to reduce transportation requirements.

Our greenkeeping equipment is the most efficient available on the market and we continue to explore the most environmentally-friendly solutions when purchasing any new equipment or vehicles.

Natural Habitat

We are privileged to be located in 150 acres of beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds and we take our responsibility to preserve and protect the local landscape seriously.

More than 10,000 trees were planted in the construction of the golf course and we continue to increase planting each year. We have recently rewilded out of bounds areas of the golf course to preserve natural habitats for local wildlife.

In the construction of our Spa hotel rooms, we have reinstated a natural pond that was lost during WWII when the water was drained in order to obtain materials to construct a nearby air landing strip for the Dambusters. The pond is now refilled, planted and home to many living creatures.
